In the heart of Jhajjar, Haryana, stands a beacon of hope and compassion for voiceless beings — Gokuldham Gau Sewa Mahatirth. Born from a deep sense of love and reverence towards Gau Mata (the sacred cow), this non-profit organization has become one of India’s most dedicated cow care and rescue missions, impacting thousands of lives every day.

A Vision Rooted in Compassion 

What began as a humble dream on a one-acre plot of land has blossomed into a sprawling 3.5-acre sanctuary and animal hospital. This remarkable journey was led by Sunil Nimana Ji — a man fueled by purpose and empathy. Inspired by his grandmother’s dream of a cow hospital (Gau Chikitsalay) and guided by his grandfather’s spirit of selfless service, Sunil Ji devoted his life to serving abandoned, sick, and injured cows.

One fateful day, while travelling, he encountered an injured cow — a moment that transformed his life. He immediately sought treatment for the animal and felt a profound inner peace and fulfillment that compelled him to dedicate himself fully to Gau Seva. That day marked the beginning of a mission that would touch hundreds of thousands of lives.

World-Class Care for Cows 

Gokuldham Gau Sewa Mahatirth is not just a shelter — it’s a world-class cow hospital. Equipped with modern facilities and a compassionate team of volunteers and caregivers, the organisation provides medical treatment, emergency care, and shelter to cows that would otherwise be left to suffer on the streets.

The facility treats cows with the same dignity and respect as one would treat their own family, embodying the ancient principle that cows are to be honoured and protected.

Expanding the Reach of Service 

Over the years, Gokuldham has grown significantly. From its roots in Dadri Toe, Jhajjar, the organisation now operates multiple centres:

• Gokul Dham Gau Sewa Mahatirth, Jhajjar – housing 900–1000 cows currently under treatment

• Gokul Dham Gau Sewa Mahatirth, Dadri Toe, Haryana – with around 250 healthy cows

• Gokul Dham First Aid Center, Kanjhawla, Delhi – 200–300 cows receive care here

• Manav Gau Sewa Sadan, Rewla Khanpur, Delhi – sheltering approximately 3500 cows in need

In just a little over a decade, the organisation has cared for and treated over 125,000 cows — a testament to its tireless efforts and the support of compassionate people across India.
